Alec Baldwin skyrocketed to fame in part because of his great movie with Sean Connery, The Hunt For Red October, based on a Tom Clancy novel. Clancy was well known for penning espionage stories that were technically accurate, realistic, and believable. Nothing wild eyed or impossible, but rather stories that with one little advancement or change or action that was fictional, could happen.
In the movie where Baldwin turned in his star making performance as Intelligence Analyst thrust into the middle of the action Jack Ryan, he was trying to keep the Russians from pulling a fast one on America that threatened our way of life, centering on a submarine with the name Red October.
Jack Ryan, a character that would also be portrayed in years to come by Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, would (in books and films) eventually challenge a President’s lies, and one day become President himself.
Now that we’ve had a Red November in America, and seen our election go to the Kremlin’s first choice… And now that we know, thanks to intelligence analysts, that Trump won with some help from the GRU (the rebranded KGB)… Now it seems almost surrealistically fitting that we’re now seeing a bit of Jack Ryan from Alec Baldwin in real life.
From portraying Trump brilliantly on Saturday Night Live, to speaking out publicly against Trump, Alec Baldwin has recognized the Clear And Present Danger, and has been fighting to expose a President Elect’s lies, and to undermine a Russian plot to threaten our way of life. Even more satisfying, in a way, is that he’s using something red to do it – not a submarine named Red October – but a knockoff of Trump’s now iconic red “Make America Great Again” campaign slogan ballcaps.
Baldwin’s hat, like Trump’s, says “Make America Great Again”. But Baldwin’s ballcap is printed in Russian, not English, brilliantly exposing the real meaning behind Trump’s idea of making America great, which seems to be selling America out to our greatest adversary.

And it seems even more fitting that Baldwin, like Ryan, seems to have some political ambitions of his own. And it’s a good thing, because someone’s going to have to run against Trump in 4 years…
